The fastest way to build a failing business

I’ve made many mistakes as an entrepreneur.

One of my worst?

Not following feedback.

When I began building my business, I so was busy pressing forward that I didn’t have time to listen. I’d slap together my offers with a quick bit of research, write emails without speaking to my customers, then plough forward to the next project.

The problem?

You risk writing about the wrong topics (which means weaker relationships), making the wrong moves (which means a worse reputation), and building the wrong offers (which means much less revenue).

But it’s how 95% of entrepreneurs approach their marketing—they leave their success to chance.

It’s absolute idiocy.

As my friend Katelyn put it recently:

It’s remarkable how much you can set yourself apart from your competition with one simple action:

Listen. To. Your. Audience.

Nothing is as valuable for your business as real feedback from real people—your fans.

They want to help you build something excellent.

They’ll tell you what they want. You just need to pay attention.

For example, I began taking feedback seriously 18 months ago.

My first attempt at a course was pretty average. But I’ve had a blast iterating with my customers to hopefully make something special. And as a result, High Impact Writing has almost sold 2,000 copies now. Many of those sales have come from word of mouth.

It’s why I’m excited for the launch of Magnetic Emails, too.

I’ve taken the advice from High Impact Writing and spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours building a simple system to help you write story-based emails that connect deeply with your audience.

I know people enjoy zero-fluff courses with actionable frameworks…

And I know that people want to be able to sell their products and services without being too ‘pushy’ or ‘salesy’.

So this course is the only step-by-step process that will take you from zero ideas to engaging, story-driven emails that build relationships, reputation, AND revenue… even if you’re brand new to the email marketing world.

Plus, it’s fully written and video—because many of my customers (and myself included) prefer to read their material instead of watch.

And I’ve recorded 15 ‘over-the-shoulder’ writing sessions of me writing every email to prelaunch this course. So far, 2335 people have joined the waitlist (if you haven’t already, you can join them by clicking here).

So it should pretty cool for you to see the advice in action.

And look, I’m not an ‘email marketing expert’. I don’t have all the answers.

But I’m crazy passionate about writing online and attracting the best kind of audience.

The stuff I teach has helped me grow my business to $500k/year through sharing ideas I believe in. And I know this approach can work for you too.

If you enjoy my style, you’ll love what I’ve cooked up.

And if not?

Well, for one, I quite literally guarantee you will.

But for two, I always appreciate the feedback :)

Looking forward to launching on the 1st September (my hairline is too because it’s been a big shift this summer!).

If you have any questions, let me know.

Happy to help,

Kieran

P.S.

If feedback is king, then questionnaires are queen.

I have thousands of responses from my audience. But I don’t send ‘can you fill out this questionnaire’ emails.

…Because they suck.

Instead, I sneak them into ‘hidden gem’ places inside my newsletter—three in particular. These are points of contact that most entrepreneurs overlook. Which is insane considering how valuable the data is.

I share this secret in the bonus module of Magnetic Emails ‘Launch Your List’.

Intrigued?

Excellent. Hop on the waitlist by clicking here.

Speak soon.

Last week, I sent an unfortunate message to my affiliates. I’d promised they could help launch Magnetic Emails. But I since changed my mind, explaining the launch would be private. No affiliates. No advertising. No selling on social media either. For reference, my last launch grossed 6 figures. Affiliate sales were 40% of the income. And I have 239,000 followers across social media platforms. So it’s a considerable chunk of business I’m throwing away. Why am I doing this? Because I was being...

Studies show 50% of businesses fail within 5 years. But I’d bet 95% of creator-first businesses will crash and burn. Consider this email a word of warning—a conversation I wish I had with myself three years ago. It begins with the truth: The online game isn’t as simple as people think. From an ‘outsiders’ perspective, every social media influencer is rolling in cash. Big brand deals, flashy cars, great holidays. This intrigues many people. So they dive into online business with their 4 Hour...

Three months ago, as I strolled along Leeds canal in the blistering UK heat (23 degrees), I listened to Tim Ferris interview Seth Godin. Ferris asked Godin how he’s kept so consistent with his popular daily blog, of which he’s posted 8,109 times. Godin replied with a point I loved: ”It’s not your job to say new things. It’s your job to say things that confirm your audience’s beliefs.” Most writers, myself included, think the secret to success is coming up with novel and unique ideas. But...
